Payment is due at the time of registration. Credit card payments may be accepted over the phone.

THE QUILT TREE CLASS LEVELS

BEGINNER I – You must know how to sew on your machine. These classes will include instruction in basic rotary cutting and piecing.

BEGINNER II  - You must already have basic piecing and rotary cutting skills.  These classes will expand your skills or give special tips.

INTERMEDIATE – You are experienced in piecing and rotary skills.  These classes are a little faster paced and often tackle more difficult patterns. 

YARN BRANCH CLASS LEVELS

BEGINNER - You have not yet learned or are not yet comfortable with knitting or crocheting.  These classes will provide you with the basic skills needed.  These classes are good for “true beginners” as well as for those who need a refresher.

BEGINNER II – You know how to cast-on, bind-off, knit, purl, increase, decrease, and follow a pattern.  These classes will expand your skills or give you special tips.

INTERMEDIATE – You have many projects ‘under your belt.’  These classes are a little faster paced and often tackle more difficult patterns.


CLASS POLICIES

You must pay for the class when you register.  Phone reservations are accepted with a credit card.  The supply list is provided when you pay the class fee.  We can mail or fax the supply list.

Class fees are not refundable unless we cancel a class.  If you are unable to attend a class, you may contact us to see if there is someone on the waiting list to buy your spot, or you may send a friend in your place.  Class cancellations, when necessary, will be one week prior to the class start date.  If a class is canceled, we will refund your class fee.

Out of consideration for the instructor and the other students, children, pets and non-paying guests are not allowed at classes.

** Please remember, quilt classes are generally for the top of the quilt only.  Finishing classes are available.

CLASS SUPPLIES

Supplies are needed for almost all classes.  If a pattern or book is necessary to make the quilt top or knitted project, it is a required purchase.  The class fee covers instruction only.  You are responsible for picking up your supply list and coming to class prepared.

Some classes have a limited supply of pre-made kits which match the teacher sample.  Look for these kits if you are interested, but please remember that there may not be a kit available for each class slot.  Also, teachers do make their samples in advance of classes taught and, as a result, fabrics or yarns they used are sometimes no longer available.

We strongly recommend that you purchase your supplies prior to class day.  

The Quilt Tree / Yarn Branch cannot guarantee we will have specialty items the night of a particular class.  We do order enough for everyone in a class.  However, sometimes items do sell out prior to your class.  Please review your class supply list and bring all the requested items, plus the following sewing basics for quilting classes:

Quilting supplies:  sharp rotary cutter, mat and ruler

General supplies: seam ripper, straight pins and scissors for thread cutting

Sewing machine: In good working order.  Remember your foot pedal, extra sewing machine needles and bobbins.
