Topics typically discussed include casting on and binding off, buttonholes, mattress stitch seams, set in sleeves, picking up stitches, three needle bind offs and blocking. Gauge and its relation to yarn and pattern selection is also a frequent discussion. Handouts and tips are provided throughout the session. Regain enthusiasm for UFO’s and get them finished. Face those knitting challenges that have been slowing you down and learn the techniques needed to make progress.

BOHUS STYLE HATS
Toni McDermott
Monday January 25, February 8 & 22
6:30pm – 8:30pm
Beginner II
$35.00
Bohus Strickning is a famous knitting technique in Sweden dating from the 1930’s and a group of local knitters has become interested in knitting a Bohus pattern. Knitters can choose to knit a sport weight hat or a lighter fingering weight hat. The hats are stranded in beautiful colors and have a characteristic shape. Bohus differs from traditional Fair Isle knitting in that it uses purl bumps to create texture. These hats are knit in the round on circular needles and fit beautifully. This class is intended to begin or to increase a knitter’s stranding skills.
